The Smackers are proud to announce the release of their debut album, Tear it Up. Singer/Songwriter, Sandy Craig writes songs that tell stories of life in the west, often with a humorous twist. His lazy vocal style and sizzling guitar solos give these songs their distinctive flavor with the kind of lyrical story-telling that comes from a life rich with experiences. California born singer/songwriter Sandy Craig has been playing guitar for nearly 40 years. Growing up in a family with Dad an accomplished Dixieland trombonist, Mother a classically trained pianist, and three singing sisters gave him an eclectic set of influences. Listening to everything from Hank Williams to Jimi Hendrix, his personal C.D. collection has Alison Krause right next to Alice in Chains. His style is influenced by Steve Earle, Mark Knopfler, Elvin Bishop, Robert Earl Keen Jr., Son Volt, Wilco, Ryan Adams and Lucinda Williams.
