California born singer/songwriter Sandy Craig has been playing guitar for nearly 40 years. Growing up in a family with Dad an accomplished Dixieland trombonist, Mother a classically trained pianist and three singing sisters gave him an eclectic set of influences.
Listening to everything from Hank Williams to Jimi Hendrix, his personal C.D. collection has Alison Krause right next to Alice in Chains. His style is influenced by Steve Earle, Mark Knopfler, Elvin Bishop, Robert Earl Keen Jr., Son Volt, Wilco, Ryan Adams and Lucinda Williams.
He considers his greatest accomplishment to be staying married to one woman for 29 years, and raising three kids. To do this, he has worked as a commercial fisherman, wood-cutter, shingle splitter, fruit picker, forest fire fighter, carpenter, tile-setter, adobe brick layer, backhoe operator... and guitar player in Honky-tonk bands while living in five Western States.
The CD also features Sandy’s sister, Nina Knef, adding lead vocals on two tracks and backing vocals on the others. Her road-weary angel voice is a delight.
